Job summary

A prominent educational provider in Loughborough is seeking an Engineering Workshop Technician (Thermofluids) to support the daily operation of technical facilities. Qualifications

  • Experience operating, testing and maintaining equipment that demonstrates thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics.
  • Experience working in a laboratory, workshop, or other technical facility applying good Health & Safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate the daily operation of technical facilities and resources.
  • Assemble, evaluate, and maintain thermo-fluid lab equipment.
  • Diagnose faults in test equipment and replace components as necessary.
  • Implement Health and Safety regulations and conduct risk assessments.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and monitor consumable stock levels.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and instructional materials.
  • Suggest solutions for identified technical issues based on expertise.
  • Assist with student visit days and outreach activities.

Skills

Experience operating thermodynamic equipment
Experience in laboratory or workshop environments
Knowledge of Health & Safety practices
