Job description

The Head of Skills, Education and Employment will lead on the strategic development and delivery of regional skills and employment strategies aligned with the Mayoral vision and Economic Framework.

Reporting into Andy Kerr, the Director of Economy, you will oversee a £30M annual devolved skills budget, manage specialist teams, and ensure programme compliance. You will have responsibility for stakeholder management, partnership development and careers strategy leadership.

We are looking for an outstanding strategic leader with experience in skills and employment, and a deep understanding of local and national policy landscapes. You will have the drive and enthusiasm to develop the service, with a background in working in political environments.
