Job description

A warm and welcoming family based in Notting Hill is seeking an experienced live-in Maternity Nurse / Maternity Nanny to provide ongoing cover for their nanny during scheduled time off.

The baby is now 4 months old and sleeping in the parents' room overnight. While this is not a night nanny role, the family would still like a maternity-trained professional who can provide 24-hour presence and support while staying in the home with them, as she is still very young.

Initially required from 23rd January through to early February, followed by regular ongoing cover up until the end of March, with dates planned where possible.

Confirmed Dates (January-February)
  • 23rd January - evening cover if required
  • 24th January - 6th February (live-in, full cover)
  • 7th February - handover day with Nanny (time TBC)

A day off will be included during this period, with flexibility around timing. Further dates will follow a pattern of 5 or 6 days on for their nanny, followed by 3 days off, alternating where possible to avoid consistent weekend cover. You will be covering the nanny's days off.

Key Responsibilities
  • Full baby care for a 4-month-old infant
  • Supporting parents with routines, feeding, sleep guidance, and settling
  • Working confidently alongside the family in a shared-care environment
  • Maintaining a calm, reassuring, and professional presence in the home
  • Supporting continuity of care during the nanny's absence and ensuring smooth handovers
  • Remaining flexible to last-minute adjustments where needed
Candidate Requirements
  • Experienced Maternity Nurse or Maternity Nanny
  • Confident supporting infants beyond the newborn stage
  • Happy to live in and remain on-site during cover periods
  • London-based strongly preferred (to reduce travel complications and improve flexibility)
  • Calm, adaptable, and highly reliable

A lovely opportunity to work with a thoughtful family who value consistency, flexibility, and a gentle, professional approach to infant care.

Temporary Maternity Nanny Cover (Potential for Permanent Retainer Role)
    • Start: 23rd January (evening cover if required)
    • Contract: January - end of March (with potential to continue on a retainer basis)
    • Schedule: Live-in, 24‑hour cover during booked periods (day off included per stint, flexible)
    • Baby: 4 months old
    • Accommodation: Private room within the family home
    • Travel: Potential international travel later in the year
