Purpose of the Job: The role is responsible for driving the delivery of all financial management information in relation to Brit Syndicate 2988. The Syndicate is backed by a mix of Brit and third-party capital with a diverse base of investors. The role delivers financial information and analysis, both retrospective and prospective, and works with the Head of Group Financial Performance and the Active Underwriter to understand performance drivers and communicate insights to stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Monthly management information
- Quarterly investor packs
- Prospective investor material
- Annual planning, forecasting, scenario testing and modelling
- Performance monitoring
- Underwriting and expense analysis
- Reporting to Executive Committee & Board, as appropriate
- Support development and enhancement of FP&A processes for plan, forecast and actual information
- Collaborate across teams and, where needed, work independently to deliver high-quality analysis
- Produce Syndicate 2988 management information and investor materials with clear interpretation of trends and variances
- Support capital-raising materials and provide forward-looking analysis to investors
- Assist in annual planning with the Head of Group Financial Performance and the Active Underwriter
- Analyze current and prospective performance drivers; model different scenarios; perform ad hoc analysis
- Benchmark Syndicate 2988 against peers
- Prepare materials for the Board and governance bodies
- Support process improvements and streamlined reporting across the FP&A team
- Assist with ad-hoc strategic projects requiring analytical tooling
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Analytical individual with 3-5 years of London Market experience in Finance, Actuarial or Risk
- Experience in business performance management disciplines (planning, budgeting, forecasting, KPI reporting)
- Strong numerical ability with financial modelling capability
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint
- Ability to build effective working relationships across the business
- Highly organized with strong time-management and prioritization skills
- Flexible approach; capable of managing multiple ongoing projects
