Temporary Financial Accountant - Non-profit
  • Salary: £45,704
  • Location: Newtownabbey
  • Job Type: Hybrid - 37.5 hours per week

Reed Finance is partnered with a prominent, highly regarded non‑profit organisation in Belfast, in the appointment of a Temporary Financial Accountant for a period six months (with possible permanency). The position offers a hybrid working model and is based in north Belfast.

This key position supports the Director of Finance in providing senior financial accountancy services to ensure strong financial stewardship across the Group.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Production of all relevant statutory annual accounts, operational budget streams, budget forecasting across three Group companies
  • Support the Senior Leadership Team, offering valuable finance insights to ensure the success of our corporate objectives.
  • Contribute to the leadership and development of the department, supporting the innovative delivery of the vision and strategic objectives.
  • Coordinate and be the main point of contact for the year‑end audit process by liaising with external auditors and preparing necessary documentation.
  • Deliver ad‑hoc financial analysis to support decision‑making within the wider group.
  • Assist in the development of the Finance Team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. Take the lead role on relevant financial issues at regular Finance Department meetings.
Essential Criteria
  • A fully qualified Accountant (ideally with supervisory experience)
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis, is required.
  • Demonstrable experience to working to strict deadlines and within current financial legislation.
  • I.T. competent, including use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
