Job summary

A recruitment agency is looking for a Reliable and Skilled Temporary Cook in Thame. The role involves preparing and presenting high-quality dishes, maintaining food safety, and managing kitchen organization. Essential qualifications include Level 2 and Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificates and experience as a chef, preferably in daytime services. The position offers £13-£16 per hour, working 4-5 days a week with hours from 7:30am to 4:00pm.

Berry Recruitment are NOW hiring for a Reliable and Skilled Temporary Cook to work for a company in Thame.

Role: Temporary Cook

Salary: £13-£16 per hour (dependent on experience)

Location: Thame

Hours: 7:30am - 4:00pm, 4-5 days per week

Key Responsibilities of the Temporary Cook
  • Prepare, cook, and present breakfast, brunch, and lunch dishes to a high standard.
  • Handle orders efficiently during busy service times.
  • Maintain excellent food hygiene and safety practices at all times.
  • Support menu planning and daily food preparation.
  • Ensure kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils are kept clean and organised.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, assisting colleagues as needed.
  • Manage stock rotation and report shortages.
About you
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (essential).
  • Level 3 Food Hygiene / Food Safety Certificate (essential).
  • Proven experience working as a chef in a professional kitchen, ideally in a café or daytime service environment.
  • Ability to work independently and handle busy service periods.
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
