Job description

Telehandler / Mobile Plant Operative (Temp to Perm)

Minimum Experience Required: 2 years operating Telehandler / Loading shovel

Location: Great Blakenham

Hours: Monday-Friday 07:00-17:00 + rotational Saturday 06:00-11:00

Pay

£14.30 per hour via agency for the first 12 weeks.

When you go full time: £730.35 per week (based on 47.5 hours)

Full Time Overtime rate: £21.38 per hour

Immediate start available. Interview required prior to placement.

We are currently seeking an experienced Telehandler / Mobile Plant Operative to join a busy recycling and waste processing site on a temp-to-permanent basis. This is a hands‑on role within a fast‑paced industrial environment, operating mobile plant machinery and supporting daily site operations.

Purpose of the Role

To safely and efficiently operate mobile plant machinery used for bulking, sorting, and processing recycling and waste materials, ensuring smooth site operations and high recycling standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Feeding shredders and balers using correct segregation and sorting procedures
• Loading and unloading HGVs using telehandlers, loading shovels, and forklifts
• Operating static plant machinery including balers and shredders (training provided)
• Carrying out daily machine start‑up, shut‑down, and safety checks
• Ensuring all plant and equipment are maintained in a clean and safe condition
• Reporting defects or damage promptly
• Assisting with basic maintenance, unblocking, and housekeeping tasks
• Supporting site safety, cleanliness, and compliance with PPE requirements
• Reporting contamination of materials via agreed procedures

Working Hours

Monday to Friday: 07:00-17:00

Rotational Saturday shift: 06:00-11:00

Skills & Experience Required

• Minimum 2 years experience operating telehandler/loading shovel
• Valid Telehandler / Loading Shovel Licence (CPCS/NPORS not required)
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, heavy industrial environment
• Good understanding of Health & Safety
• Willingness to carry out manual tasks as required
• Reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently or as part of a team
