A critical infrastructure services provider is seeking a Lead Engineer to manage a team responsible for maintaining the M25's critical technology. This role involves cyclic maintenance and fault rectification on various roadside technologies, ensuring high performance and safety standards are met. Ideal candidates should hold an HNC or equivalent in electronics/telecommunications and have strong leadership and communication skills. The position is full-time, located in the United Kingdom, with no remote work options.
The M25 is one of our Flagship projects in the UK! It is the most used part of the UK Strategic Road Network with it seeing over 200000 vehicles per day and its a critical infrastructure asset for personal and goods vehicles into and around our capital. The network includes around 800 structures and 5 tunnels so it requires high levels of performance constant improvement and repairs to keep it operating smoothly.
Weve formed a Joint Venture project called Connect Plus Services (CPS) to work with our partners to widen operate and maintain the M25 under a 30-year contract until 2039 and we are looking for someone to join our esteemed Connect Plus Services Technology Team and take on a leadership role in maintaining and enhancing the M25s critical technological infrastructure. As a Lead Engineer you will oversee and manage a team of up to four engineers and technicians ensuring effective task allocation performance management and operational excellence.
Beyond management you will play a hands‑on role in the field attending jobs where necessary and providing expert guidance to your team. Your team will be responsible for the cyclic maintenance and fault rectification of key roadside technology including CCTV Emergency Roadside Telephones (ERT) MIDAS RCC NTIS HAWIS Traffic Signals and Message Signs. You will ensure all maintenance and repair activities are carried out in line with National Highways and Technology Services quality plans meeting contractual requirements and timescales.
