About the role:

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with substantial practical experience in Engineering Machine Shop to provide technical tutoring, supervision, and mechanical technical support to undergraduate and postgraduate students, academic staff, and technical staff.

The successful candidate will support high-quality technical teaching, manage equipment and resources in technical facilities, and oversee technical staff if necessary. This role is vital in maintaining a safe, compliant, and engaging environment, focusing on practical instruction, facility management, and professional development of technical staff.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience supporting teaching and learning, including practical demonstrations and safe equipment use.
  • Experience in applying processes and techniques for supporting teaching outcomes, including working with machine tools and hand tools in an Engineering Machine Shop setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Level 4 or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject (e.g., CertHE, HNC, Level 4 award/diploma, NVQ).

While a Level 4 qualification is preferred, candidates with significant industry experience and demonstrated skills will also be considered.
