Job description

Overview

We are looking for a technical team leader in our Film Production area. This role will provide management support and development for the delivery of technical services to all our customers including students, academics, and external clients. This involves the strategic implementation of hardware and software to these facilities which include Film Studios, stores and high-end postproduction services within a multi-platform environment and high specification digital teaching spaces. The role will lead the technical demonstrator and technical teams working in support of film production reporting back to the senior technical manager.

Key Responsibilities

• To develop and build a technical team working closely with the school’s technical team leaders/ managers supporting Film Production
• To help shape the integration and embedding of technical learning and delivery into the school’s academic programmes
• To lead technical aspects of projects surrounding the long-term strategy of film production including consulting with stakeholders on studios, facilities and equipment
• To maintain a high level of industry awareness and pro-actively, assess and advise on the impact of developments in technology
• To maintain health and safety knowledge and standards and to have due regard for the security, safety, installation, and maintenance of specialist facilities ensuring compliance with Health & Safety guidance and regulation

The School of Arts, Media and Creative Technology is one of the leading centres for practice-based education in the creative disciplines in the Northwest.
