Position: Technical Services Manager

Salary: 52,000 - 53,000 plus package
Hours: Mon-Fri 40 hours per week

We are recruiting for an experienced Technical Services Manager / Maintenance Contract Manager to join a successful maintenance and facilities management team. The role involves overseeing multi-site estates and sites.

The position is a permanent role paying 52-53k basic plus car/car allowance. It is a Mon-Fri, 40-hour week, with 25 days holiday plus statutory holidays, a company pension, and a healthcare scheme.

The role is based in Staffordshire and covers contracts in the NW and Midlands regions.

Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, the Technical Services Manager / Contract Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of M&E building services and Hard FM contract operations. Responsibilities include managing maintenance engineers, handling small works quotations, supplier delivery, and collaborating with clients. The manager will also monitor service performance, ensure contractual compliance, identify cost savings, and unlock value.

Key Accountabilities:
  1. Coordinate and manage all building services operations across multiple contracts.
  2. Manage all PPM and reactive maintenance schedules.
  3. Plan and implement small works projects.
  4. Review service performance, identify areas for improvement, and develop action plans.
  5. Provide escalation points for service performance issues.
  6. Monitor and control SLA agreements and evaluate KPI and contract progress.
  7. Hold responsibility for P&L management.
  8. Identify, price, and quote small works.
  9. Assist in the mobilization of new contracts.
  10. Ensure compliance management.
  11. Manage maintenance engineers and liaise with helpdesk.
  12. Conduct client site visits and develop relationships.
  13. Support budget planning and forecasting.
Requirements:
  • Experience in multi-site contract management.
  • Background in building services engineering (Mechanical or Electrical, HVAC, etc.).
  • Experience with compliance oversight.
  • Excellent client-facing skills.
  • Experience managing M&E engineers and working on PPM schedules.
  • Highly flexible and mobile to maintain presence across large areas.
  • Valid driving license.
  • Experience with performance and job management systems in the building services/FM industry.
  • Intermediate IT skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Service-oriented attitude with innovative thinking.
  • Background in Building Services and Hard FM.
  • Negotiation skills and ability to deal with staff at all levels.
  • Self-motivated and resourceful team player.
