Job summary

A leading engineering consultancy seeks a Technical Sales Manager to drive business growth in injection moulding. The ideal candidate will manage existing customer portfolios while identifying new opportunities. Qualifications

Overview

Working exclusively with our client, an established injection moulding manufacturer, we are looking for a Technical Sales Manager to support continued business growth across the company group.

Remit
  • This position will suit a Technical Sales professional or Account Manager with previous experience in engineering / manufacturing

  • The successful candidate will act as a key link to customers, sales and manufacturing, providing technical expertise to support new projects and business opportunities
Role
  • In the role of Technical Sales Manager you will manage and grow a portfolio of existing customers whilst identifying and developing new business opportunities
  • Act as primary technical point of contact for customers during the course of new projects
  • Build long‑term business relationships with customers through regular technical reviews and site visits
  • Understand customer requirements and develop them into manufacturable solutions
  • Prepare detailed technical inputs for quotations including cycle times, material usage, tooling costs and secondary operations
  • Work closely with cost estimators to ensure accurate and competitive pricing
  • Collaborate with tooling, process and quality departments to develop optimal injection moulding solutions
  • Support NPI from concept through to production launch
  • Maintain up‑to‑date understanding of the market for potential new business opportunities
  • Stay up to speed with injection moulding technologies, material solutions, automation and industry trends
  • Represent the company at industry trade shows
Experience Requirements
  • Degree or relevant qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing or related discipline an advantage
  • Experience in technical sales or project engineering roles within plastics manufacturing an advantage but other manufacturing / engineering sectors considered
  • Experience working directly with customers in an engineering / manufacturing environment
  • Good understanding of injection moulding processes, tooling and materials. Other plastics manufacturing disciplines are also welcomed
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D CAD models
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Commercial awareness
  • Customer focused with a solution based selling approach
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple functions
