Technical Production Supervisor

The Technical Production Supervisor is responsible for assembling, testing, and troubleshooting optical networking products in a production environment. This role will also include supervisory responsibilities for the production operations team. This hands-on role ensures all components and finished goods meet quality and performance standards through the use of optical test equipment and standardized procedures. In their supervisory capacity this role will be responsible for oversight of the transceiver programming, testing and shipping operations. The Technical Production Supervisor will set priorities and align resources for order fulfillment and ensure that test equipment and procedures are available for the production team. Ideal candidates will have experience working with fiber optics, precision testing tools, and a strong attention to detail.

In return we offer a salary ranging from £45K - £63k depending on levels of experience, a discretionary bonus scheme as well as 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays). You will make an impact in the following way:

• Defines technical specifications and test procedures for Precision OT’s production team.
• Assists in setting up switch and router configurations based on defined use cases for production testing.
• Creates and updates transceiver and optical network device templates and configurations as well as testing and validating compatibility of optical transceiver devices with various types of networking equipment.
• Assist with optical network equipment troubleshooting, integration, and root cause analysis efforts.
• Support Solution Engineering team with test scenarios and reports.

What you will bring:

• Basic understanding of optical network technologies (fiber optics, Mux/Demux, lasers, photodetectors) and familiarity with configuring or testing networking hardware (Cisco, Juniper, etc.) is a plus
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead, engage and motivate staff with a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience
• Technical certifications or vocational training in electronics or fiber optics are beneficial
• Prior experience or a degree in the relevant field is desirable
• Minimum 5 years of experience working in a high-volume production environment
