This role provides professional technical editing and publication support for NOAA scientific reports, manuscripts, and serials for the Northeast Fisheries Science Center (NEFSC).

This opportunity is part of the Operations, Management, and Information (OMI) Division within the Science Research Directorate (SRD), which provides critical research communications, editorial services, and public affairs support across the Center.
As the Technical Editor of Marine Sciences, you will help NEFSC researchers publish and share their findings by managing the editing and documentation of formal and informal scientific publications. From manuscript development to compliance with NOAA style and accessibility standards, your expertise will ensure the integrity and reach of NEFSC\'s scientific contributions. You’ll also serve as the Center’s point of contact for NOAA’s Research Publication Tracking System (RPTS), supporting users, reporting on publication outcomes, and contributing to broader NOAA communications goals.
This role is ideal for a skilled editor with deep experience in the natural sciences, familiarity with government publishing policies, and a passion for making complex research accessible. Remote or hybrid work may be available, depending on secure system access and equipment.
