Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Technical Administrator to work for an energy efficiency company based in Dudley - this role is office based and could suit someone who has done the role previously or someone from a surveyor / trade background

Main Purpose of the Role

To work with the surveyors and operations teams to ensure that each project moves from survey to install as efficiently as possible. Maximise the number of projects that can installed each month and minimising any on site in day issues. Also interacting with customers and preparing quotations and contracts which are clear and accurate, thus improving the customers experience with the company.

Main Responsibilities
  • Liaise with Retrofit-Assessors from site to answer any property specific technical queries.
  • Produce Pre-Installation Building Inspection forms by using pictures and measurements from the Retrofit Assessors site visit.
  • Produce CAD/Electronic floor plans and measure specific site plans using the Retrofit Assessors information.
  • Complete Easy PV design documents for projects where we are proposing to install Solar PV.
  • Complete BTU calculations for Elnur High Heat Retention Storage Heaters for projects where we are proposing to install HHR-ESH.
  • Obtaining quotes for scaffolding and then managing the erection, removal and compliance with the appropriate contractor.
  • Responsible for site specific waste management arrangement.
  • Calculate the overall cost of delivering all of the measures to the project, ensuring we are within budget.
  • Producing customer quotations and contracts, including answering customer queries when raised.
  • Producing Materials picking lists for stock to be used from warehouse stock.
  • Raising Purchase orders where stock is not carried in our warehouse.
  • Send install packs to install teams as soon as they are prepared and finalised.

  • Experience working with existing buildings as a surveyor or tradesperson.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels, and in a professional manner - written and verbal.
  • Pro‑active fast learner with win‑win mindset and upbeat, results‑driven and initiative work ethic.
  • Robust in managing and prioritising workload, always maintaining keen eye to detail while multitasking and problem solving.
  • Intermediate IT skills and strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong command of RootCad or other CAD software.
  • Ability to liaise confidently with senior management.
  • Good oral and written English.
  • Good general level of education including GCSE A‑C in Maths and English.
  • Customer service experience.
Qualifications

The below qualifications are desirable but not essential:

  • City & Guilds NVQ Level 2 in Insulation & Building Treatments (or equivalent)
  • CSCS card
  • Other building or insulation qualifications

The job holder is responsible for supporting the Operations and compliance departments in ensuring that the management systems and customer management system are up to date.

Additional Information
  • This is a Monday to Friday office‑based position. Our standard working hours are 8.45am to 5.15pm Monday to Thursday and 8.45am to 4.15pm on Friday.
  • Overtime will be available once passing a 3-month probationary period
