Job description

CAF Rolling Stock, a global leader in the manufacture of railway vehicles and equipment, are seeking an experienced Team Leader to join them in their state of the art, purpose-built manufacturing facility in South Wales. We are searching for a calm and driven Team Leader with a background in production or manufacturing who thrives in a high-pressure environment and has a focus on cost saving, quality and safety.

This role presents a unique opportunity to work alongside an extremely supportive Production Manager who is keen to push the professional development of his Team Leaders, ensuring they have the training and experience needed to become the Managers of the future. With a strong order book and a number of exciting new projects in the pipeline, this is the perfect time to join and help develop process and team members in a positive, collaborative environment.

The Team Leader will oversee a team of up to 15 operators; ensuring project targets are hit, quality and attention to detail is followed, whilst keeping project costs in line with the budget, if not under the set budget.

  • Manage a team of between 8-15 operators
  • Review the production schedule
  • Ensure builds are completed to a very high standard and quality
  • Keep costs on track, if not under KPIs
  • Make sure that builds are completed within the set deadlines
  • Ensure the team are working safely and safety measures in place
  • Ensure the correct tools and materials are available
  • Lead daily meetings; to ensure tasks are correctly lead
  • Conduct daily SQDCP team briefings
