Team Leader

Located at Cambian Whinfell - Shap Road.

Contract type: Full Time (42 Hours per week)
Contract term: Permanent.
Starting Salary: £32,672.64 per annum

We are looking for a Full-Time Team Leader to join us at Shap Road! The ideal candidate will need to be qualified to at least an NVQ Level 3 standard.

There will be staff training and professional development opportunities also available when joining this home recently graded as “Outstanding” by CQC.

Location: Kendal, Cumbria

With an Outstanding CQC judgment. Cambian Whinfell Shap Road Home is probably one of the best residential care homes of its type in the county. Located in the picturesque town of Kendal it provides exceptional care and support for young adults with Learning Disabilities and or challenges within the autistic spectrum. The home is a registered 4-bedroom house for young adults and they are closely supported to live as independent a life as possible and be a big part of the local community. We aspire for all of our people to be the best they can be as themselves.

If you join us you will be working in Shap Road with a group of young adults who are very happy and safe and who show high levels of respect and kindness towards each other. The education and care that we provide makes a significantly positive difference to their lives and parents have commented that the exemplary support their children receive has, ‘changed their lives and given them hope’.

You may have the skills to support our young adults in their activities to raise money for charities such as our local homeless shelter or to help them prepare for a more independent life by arranging personalised activities and social events for them. Alternatively, you may be interested in becoming involved in our innovative outdoor learning provision that develops their leadership skills, resilience and confidence.

What we need from you?

Successful applicants for this role of Team Leader must be qualified to an NVQ Level 3 standard. They will be part of a large supportive care team who work holistically across Care, Education and Therapeutic services supporting each other’s practice to deliver specialist residential educational services to those with additional and complex needs; including Autism & Asperger’s. This is a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with trained, qualified professionals from across our multidisciplinary team and to join an expanding and successful organisation.

Cambian Whinfell Shap Road is currently working towards reshaping the way in which specialist’s support our young adults and seek to prepare them for possible employment and/or lifelong fulfilment.

We are looking for a Team Leader who is:
