Salary: £13.75 an hour

Are you passionate about supporting children and young adults with special educational needs? If you answered yes, then this job opportunity for a SEN Teaching Assistant may be for you! A new special education free school in Salisbury is seeking a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.

The Role

You will be responsible for supporting classroom teachers in providing excellent support and care to students ranging in the ages 4-16 years old, with various SEN needs such as Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism (ASC), and other behavioural difficulties.

You will be working closely with the classroom teachers and senior leaders to help create a nurturing, supportive classroom environment.

  • SEN(D) experience in or out of an educational setting
  • Clear verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • Able to collaborate with teachers, therapists and other support staff
  • Understanding of positive behaviour support strategies
  • Comfortable working across different age groups
  • Ability to de-escalate challenging situations calmly and safely
Working Hours/Benefits
  • Full time, part time, and flexible availability applicants will be considered for this role
  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday = 08:15 – 15:00
  • Wednesday = 08:15 – 16:00
