Location: School-based (within Caerphilly County Borough)

Role Overview

The successful candidate will work under the direction of the SENCO and teaching staff to implement agreed learning programmes and provide high-quality support to pupils both in and out of the classroom. The role requires using specialist skills and knowledge to help pupils with individual learning, behavioural, and care needs reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils' learning through tailored education and personal care programmes.
  • Implement Individual Education and Behaviour Plans as directed by teaching staff.
  • Promote inclusion and positive behaviour, setting high expectations for all pupils.
  • Provide constructive feedback and maintain accurate records of pupil progress.
  • Assist teachers in preparing learning materials and assessing pupil achievement.
  • Support the implementation of national learning strategies (e.g., literacy, numeracy).
  • Uphold safeguarding, health, safety, and data protection standards at all times.
About You

We are looking for someone with:

  • NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants (or equivalent qualification/experience).
  • GCSE English and Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children, including those with special educational needs (ASD, ADHD, S&L difficulties).
  • Strong understanding of child development and learning processes.
  • Effective ICT skills to support learning activities.
  • A proactive, caring, and team-oriented approach.

Welsh language skills and/or BSL (British Sign Language) are desirable.
