Overview

Teaching Assistant - Great Barr. Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant based in Great Barr with experience in teaching phonics and interventions? This role is school-based in Great Barr, starting as soon as possible and finishing in July 2026, with potential to stay for the next academic year if the school feel you are the correct fit.

For this role you will be closely focusing on teaching phonics and providing interventions for pupils who require extra support. Therefore, knowledge of the KS1 curriculum is essential and beneficial to the role. You will also support the class teacher in tracking pupils’ learning and guiding those who need extra help.

The school is keen for innovative, passionate teachers to move forward with the times. This role is a key contribution toward the school’s goal of becoming Ofsted Outstanding. It is a lovely, small school with two classes per year; staff know each child individually and work within a highly supportive team to build pupils’ positive self-esteem and equip them with skills for lifelong learning. The successful TA will be nurturing, patient and genuinely want to make a difference.
