Overview

Teaching Assistant for Small Specialist Class - Trafford

Tradewind Manchester are supporting a two-form entry primary school based in Trafford to recruit an experienced SEND teaching assistant to work in one of their two Small Specialist Classes. It is a temporary position starting ASAP and will continue for most of the academic year.

Responsibilities

• Support 8-10 KS2 children who have been diagnosed with Autism in a Small Specialist Class, working with the SENCO and the class teacher to meet their needs.
• Contribute to consistency for the pupils and help with transitions to mainstream lessons when required.
• Commit to full-time hours and provide reliability for the duration of the placement.

Qualifications

• Be dedicated, resilient and proactive
• Ideally hold a TA2 or TA3 qualification
• Experience with behaviour management strategies
• Must be able to commit until July 2026
• Already hold or be happy to apply for an enhanced DBS disclosure
• Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
