Part-Time Teaching Assistant - Alternative Provision

Location: Gateshead

Hours: Monday to Wednesday, 9:30 AM – 2:00 PM

Job Type: Part-Time

Start Date: January 2025

We're recruiting on behalf of a brand-new Alternative Provision in Gateshead, a unique setting where education meets creativity. This provision supports 11‑16‑year‑olds who need something different from mainstream school. It's a calm, engaging space where learners can rebuild confidence, express themselves, and thrive both academically and emotionally.

About the Role
  • Deliver high‑quality, part‑time education in small group settings
  • Support learners through bespoke timetables tailored to individual needs
  • Focus on creative expression, emotional growth, and confidence building
  • Work collaboratively with a nurturing team in a safe and inclusive space
Ideal Candidates Will Have
  • Experience working with young people, particularly those with SEND or SEMH needs
  • A creative or therapeutic approach to education
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
  • A genuine passion for helping students re‑engage and succeed
  • A passion for music production, podcasting, and creative media
