1:1 EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary School, Birmingham B45 (Frankley) - January Start

APT Education, the challenger brand in primary recruitment, is proud to be recruiting for a full‑time 1:1 EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Birmingham B45, near Frankley. This role begins in January 2026 and runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm.

We are seeking a dedicated professional with proven UK primary school experience, who has the skills and passion to provide tailored support to pupils in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) with a range of additional needs.

🏫 The Role
  • Provide 1:1 support for a pupil in EYFS with Autism, ADHD, non‑verbal communication needs, and challenging behaviour
  • Use strong communication skills to support children with speech and language impairments, ensuring they can access learning
  • Implement strategies such as PECS, Makaton, AAC tools, visual timetables, and positive behaviour management
  • Deliver small group interventions where appropriate to aid progress in literacy, numeracy, and social development
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCO, and wider staff to adapt learning plans and ensure inclusive practice
  • Create a nurturing, safe environment that promotes independence, confidence, and resilience
✅ Candidate Requirements
  • Proven UK primary school experience in EYFS and SEN support (essential)
  • Experience working 1:1 with pupils with Autism, ADHD, non‑verbal communication, and challenging behaviour
  • GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Strong communication skills and ability to adapt to diverse learning needs
  • A fully enhanced DBS (Child Workforce Only) on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
