Overview

GSL Education are seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to provide high-quality support to pupils in schools across Dronfield.

Location: Dronfield

Salary: £83–£95 per day (Depending on Experience)

Start Date: Immediate

Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long Term, Full-time/Part-time

Responsibilities
  • Support class teachers in delivering lessons effectively.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group assistance to pupils needing additional help.
  • Assist with classroom management and encourage positive behaviour.
  • Prepare and organise learning resources.
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress.
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Supervise pupils during breaks and lunchtimes when required.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to meet pupil needs.
  • Promote pupil independence and confidence in learning.
  • Assist with school trips and extracurricular activities as needed.
Requirements
  • Experience working in UK schools or similar educational settings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting pupils.
  • CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance (desirable).
  • A degree in Education, psychology or a similar field.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
