Specialist Teaching Assistant

Location: Near Cranleigh, Surrey

Are you a compassionate, patient, and dedicated individual looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people? We are seeking an exceptional Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team.

About the Role:

You will be an integral part of our educational support team, working with children and young people who have a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN). Your role will involve providing one-to-one and small group support, assisting teachers in the classroom, and helping to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment. We are committed to fostering independence, promoting personal growth, and ensuring every student reaches their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Providing tailored support to students with diverse SEN, including autism spectrum conditions, learning disabilities, and communication difficulties.
  2. Assisting with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs).
  3. Supporting students' academic, social, and emotional development.
  4. Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals.
  5. Helping to manage classroom behaviour and ensure a safe learning environment.
  6. Contributing to a positive and inclusive school culture.
About You:
  1. Significant experience working with children or young people with SEN in an educational setting.
  2. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are required due to our location and the need for potential off-site activities.
  3. A genuine passion for supporting the development of young people with SEN.
  4. Patience, resilience, adaptability, and effective teamwork skills.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Proactive, resourceful, and committed to professional development.
  7. Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) are desirable.
