Job Title: Teaching and Learning Leader of Humanities (Secondary Level)

Location: East Midlands

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time

Working Pattern: 32.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Salary: £32,916 - £51,047 (FTE), MPR/UPR + TLR 1C

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated Teaching and Learning Leader of Humanities to join a forward-thinking academy in the East Midlands. This is a full-time, permanent position where you will play a key role in leading the Humanities department, ensuring that pupils of all abilities receive an exceptional education.

As the Teaching and Learning Leader, you will have overall responsibility for the quality of teaching and learning within the Humanities faculty, ensuring that your team delivers an engaging and inspiring curriculum. You will work to raise attainment across the department and inspire students to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Humanities department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Inspire and motivate students to achieve excellence in Humanities and Religious Education.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where necessary to ensure all students succeed.
  • Lead by example by planning and delivering innovative and engaging lessons that encourage active participation.
  • Take responsibility for the overall standard of teaching and learning across the Humanities curriculum, ensuring it is broad, balanced, and differentiated to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Develop positive relationships with staff, students, and parents to foster a collaborative and supportive school community.
  • Take a leadership role in curriculum planning, ensuring that the department's teaching materials and schemes of work are up to date and fit for purpose.
