Job description

The Spanish and Mandarin department offers a full and broad range of learning opportunities both in and out of the classroom; Students enjoy trips to central London to experience cultural opportunities, a generous curriculum allocation of 3 hours per week and a supportive environment that emphasises language learning. We are also part of the Mandarin Excellence Programme. We are looking to appoint an innovative and enthusiastic Teacher of Spanish and Mandarin, with exceptional subject knowledge and the ability to be at the forefront of dynamic teaching to join our highly successful and collaborative department. The successful candidate will:

Responsibilities

• Have a passion for Spanish and Mandarin evident in your day-to-day teaching.
• Teach Spanish and Mandarin to Key Stage 4 and 5 pupils.
• Be well‑versed in the current changes to the Spanish and Mandarin KS3 curriculum and the implications for classroom teaching.

Qualifications

• Show evidence of being, or having the clear potential to be, an outstanding teacher of Spanish and Mandarin.
• Contribute and show commitment to our innovative and forward‑thinking department.

About Riverside School

Riverside School opened in September 2012 with one Year 7 cohort of 120 students. In September 2017 we moved into our new state‑of‑the‑art £45 million building on the bank of the Thames. The school currently has 1200 students from Year 7 to 13 and will grow to 2000 over the next five years. It is a great career opportunity to be part of a new and expanding school.
