Salary: Up to £40,324.00 per annum, depending on experience (pay award pending)

Hours: 35 per week

Working Weeks: Full Year

The Exciting Role

A new and exciting opportunity has become available for an Economics and Business teacher.

You will be part of a highly successful team of dedicated business staff and responsible for delivering A Level Economics, A Level Business and T Level Business at Nelson and Colne College and Accrington and Rossendale College.

• Provide a curriculum that has high aspirations for all learners to enable them to achieve the extraordinary.
• Ensure the provision of a high-quality A Level offer to support learners into exciting and high achieving careers via higher education.
• Ensure a strong focus on adding value, realising aspirations and equipping students with the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to progress onto their next steps.
• Provide students with the opportunity to develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours in an outstanding college and department.

The successful candidate will be primarily based at Nelson but may be required to travel across sites.

What You Will Be Doing

• Plan, deliver and assess the curriculum for A Level Economics and A Level Business primarily.
• Support learners in their academic journey and also as a pastoral tutor.
• Ensure learners make exceptional progress against starting points.
• Develop the wider knowledge, skills and behaviours for their next steps.
• Widen their cultural capital via extra‑curricular opportunities such as trips, fitness or visiting speakers.

• An enthusiastic and knowledgeable Economics teacher who can deliver outstanding teaching, learning and support to learners.
• Experience of delivering A Level, particularly Economics with Business alongside.
