Job summary

An educational institution in Norfolk is seeking a part-time Teacher of Drama or Music. Salary: Qualified Teachers Pay Scales: Main Pay Scale (MPS) to Upper Pay Scale (UPS)

Part Time: 13 hours per week (0.4 FTE) (Working days can be discussed at interviews)

Start Date: January 2026

Responsibilities
  • Be part of a team that delivers a broad, balanced, and inclusive curriculum for students.
  • Monitor and support students’ progress and development and contribute to raising standards and attainment, while motivating and challenging students to achieve their best.
  • Work with the department to contribute to improving and developing current curriculum resources.
  • Ensure pupils receive an excellent education through the delivery of high-quality teaching.
  • Monitor and support overall progress and development of students as a teacher and contribute to raising standards of student attainment.
  • Offer active support for the School’s Policy and Procedures.
Qualifications
  • An appropriate degree and other qualifications required for the award of QTS. Qualified Teacher Status (trainees should be on track to achieve QTS before taking up the post).
  • Experience of teaching the subject in a secondary school across the 11-16 age range.
  • Experience of the wider role of a teacher in the personal development of pupils, including the main responsibilities of a form tutor.
  • Knowledge of the statutory requirements concerning Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, SEND and Child Protection.
