Overview
Teacher Chemistry (1FTE) – 35 hours per week. Dumfries Academy. Teacher Scale £40,305 - £50,589.
We are seeking to appoint a Teacher Chemistry for 35 hours per week. The post forms part of Dumfries Learning Town schools and/or The Bridge to deliver courses as part of the BGE and/or senior phase curriculum to meet the needs of our learners.
Responsibilities
- Deliver Chemistry teaching as part of the BGE and/or senior phase curriculum.
- Contribute to ensuring high-quality learning and teaching across Dumfries and Galloway Council schools.
- Participate in professional learning opportunities and collaborative practice to improve attainment and participation for all learners.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Applicants must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) in the appropriate sector.
- This post is regulated work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults; candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer.
- Applicants resident outside the UK within the last 5 years will require a police record check from the relevant authorities in the country of residence in addition to Disclosure Scotland.
- As part of the recruitment process, provide ONE completed reference alongside the application form; the reference should be submitted before the closing date to the relevant contact in the School.
