Job Description

In this role, you will start as a Telephonist and have the opportunity to advance to a Controller role with a higher pay rate after training. The job involves various tasks aimed at ensuring smooth operations and excellent customer satisfaction. Every day is different and will keep you on your toes!

Hours and Availability

35 - 40 hours available as standard, with overtime available to cover for staff sickness and annual leave. Days, evenings, weekends, and at least 2 overnight shifts a week required.

Responsibilities
  • Telephonist responsibilities: Answer incoming calls and assist customers with their inquiries; Greet and assist customers in person at the office; Manage bookings, enter them into the computer system, and coordinate with drivers; Handle general inquiries from customers via phone and email; Organise cover for busy periods and manage driver documents; Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and paperwork; Maintain cleanliness of the office and waiting room.
  • Controller responsibilities (After Training): Analyse pre-booked jobs and allocate them to appropriate drivers; Dispatch all work fairly and efficiently; Communicate with staff and drivers effectively; Coach and help develop the office team; Organise future bookings and free up availability for extra bookings; Exercise problem-solving skills and effective organisation to optimise operations; Maintain a high level of service quality and customer satisfaction; Direct and communicate with your telephonist team.
