Systems Support Technician

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Support Technician to join our IT Team. The Systems Support Technician will be responsible for maintaining the effective operation of the infrastructure and systems and form part of the service desk support function aligning with the support of our organisation’s staff, students, systems and infrastructure.

The Systems Support Technician will monitor infrastructure support calls, ensuring a prompt and effective response from receipt to closure. A core duty will be to aid the Infrastructure Manager in the identification of service improvements, working proactively to mitigate predictable issues before they arise and to reduce reliance on the service.

As our go-to expert on networks, systems and software, you’ll build a deep knowledge of our tech estate and work closely with Academy teams to deliver an outstanding first-class support service.

About you:

  • Experience:You will have proven experience in network/server support, strong customer communication skills, and hands-on expertise with software deployment, security updates, and core networking (DNS, DHCP, WAN/LAN).
  • Expertise:Excellent knowledge of Microsoft systems (including Office 365) with a strong understanding of networking fundamentals (IP, subnets, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, routing).
  • Skills:You will have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and have an adaptable and confident approach to meet the challenges of a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion:You will be a natural collaborator and team playerwith a proactive and self-motivated mindset.

Salary:

From £26,550 to £29,500 per annum, subject to qualifications and experience
