Job Title: System Handover Engineer

The role

As a System Handover Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of one of the UK’s most critical infrastructure projects - Hinkley Point C. This is a pivotal stage in the build process, where your expertise ensures that systems and equipment installations are commissioned to the highest safety and quality standards. Your work will make a tangible difference to national energy security and will accelerate your career development in the dynamic world of defence, aerospace, and engineering.

Day-to-day you’ll be :
  • Coordinating and delivering work packages from installation through to commissioning
  • Monitoring and driving quality reporting and evidence from contract partners
  • Maintaining system handover procedures, guidelines, and work instructions
  • Managing and updating the handover database
  • Collaborating with the OCC Manager and engaging daily with project installers and completions teams

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based at Hinkley.

Essential experience of the System Handover Engineer
  • Previous project engineering experience
  • Background in mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, or instrumentation engineering
  • Experience working within multi-discipline teams
  • Understanding of CDM regulations
  • Familiarity with handover databases (e.g., WinPCS, Opus, Switch Asset Suite)
Qualifications for the System Handover Engineer
  • Project Management qualification (APM PPQ or Prince2)
  • Degree beneficial but not essential
Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
