Job description

Is your career in care as rewarding as it could be? Are you frustrated with unrealistic schedules that leave no time for the people you support? Why not join MacIntyre? You will work with the same people regularly and have the opportunity to build long‑term life‑changing relationships. As a Full‑time Support Worker, you will join our team providing support to Sarah.

About Sarah

Intrigued to know more? Sarah lives in her own home and is supported to live as independently as possible. She is very interested in holistic activities such as massages, foot spa, facials and crystals. She enjoys a wide range of music from Indian music to the great 70s and 80s, in particular Donnie Osmond. She fondly remembers watching rugby with her family and still loves to catch a game on TV. She likes to go into town, shop, visit local markets and parks for fresh air. Sarah likes to meet new people and enjoys telling them about the amazing life she has had. She has many photo scrapbooks, colours and uses this to relax in the afternoons. She has a great sense of humour. Once she has built up a relationship with someone she can be very kind‑natured, making sure that staff have had enough to eat and drink and asking if they are okay.

Responsibilities
  • Be a driver with a UK manual licence to attend appointments and support Sarah in her activities.
  • Plan and participate in holistic activities such as massages, foot spa, facials, crystals, music sessions and outings to shop, markets, parks and town. Encourage Sarah’s social and independent living.
  • Use enthusiasm, fun, patience and eagerness to learn to create exciting daily activities and communicate clearly, encouraging and reassuring.
