We are looking for a support worker to help our son, who has a chromosome disorder, ASD, and some learning delays. He may need a little support with things like counting money or remembering his inhaler.

Your role is all about having fun and making a difference! You’ll spend time with our son to help him enjoy activities such as:

  • Playing computer and board games (Ludo, card games, Warhammer figure painting)
  • Sports and outdoor activities (basketball, football, cycling)
  • Train spotting & visits (David loves trains!)
  • Trips out for food and ice cream
  • Bowling, swimming, and cinema trips.
  • Encourage independent skills and confidence in travelling on public transport and walking local routes.
  • Ensure safety and wellbeing.

The plan is that the role will commence approximately May 2026. Following a successful introduction, we can be flexible with the start date.

Role Details

Hours: 4 hours weekly (occasional weekend).

Time: To be discussed at the interview.

Pay: £12.40 per hour.

Location: Bath.

About You

We’re looking for people who are:

  • Reliable and trustworthy.

Must have an Enhanced DBS check (or be willing to complete one before starting – cost covered). Previous experience supporting young adolescents with autism, chromosome disorders and some learning delays would be helpful, but a caring attitude and willingness to learn are most important.
