Overview

Job Overview: We put care into CAREr! Our team at Brookstreet Social Care are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support worker to join our team in providing high-quality care and support across a variety of our services in the Northeast. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment. Salary is dependent on location and service. We work with adults and children from diverse backgrounds and walks of life across services including homelessness, drug and alcohol support, education, learning difficulties, and autism.

Responsibilities
  • Care and Support: Provide high-quality, person-centred care and support, ensuring physical, emotional, and social needs are met. Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and leisure activities.
  • Safeguarding and Safety: Adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures to protect the welfare of all service users.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records and documentation, including care plans, incident reports, and daily logs. Communicate effectively with colleagues, families, and external agencies to ensure coordinated and consistent care.
  • Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development, attending relevant training and keeping up to date with best practices in childcare and support. Brookstreet Social Care also provides specialised ongoing training with our internal training specialist team.
Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • DBS on the update service for Adults and/or Children
  • Experience working with service users in a residential or respite care setting
  • Understanding the needs of service users with diverse backgrounds and abilities
  • Excellent communication and people skills

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification
  • Driving licence
