Job description
Support Worker – Watford, Community Centre (Camp Hill)

We're looking for a Support Worker to join us in Watford, supporting a young gentleman who lives with his mum and dad. You won't be supporting in the family home; instead you’ll meet him at the community centre where his mum drops him off, and spend the day together on site. Camp Hill is a space with a farm and plenty of activities, so every day brings something new. He enjoys baking, decorating biscuits, arts and crafts, and picking fruit and vegetables. His first language is Italian, and although his speech is limited, he loves being creative with an Italian app on his iPhone, using pictures and prompts to communicate. Your role will be to encourage him to join in, support him with daily routines, and help prepare meals that meet his dietary needs – pizza is a favourite! While routine medication isn’t required, you’ll be trained to follow epilepsy protocols if needed. Family connections are central to his life, and you’ll work closely with his mum to ensure he feels supported and understood.

Why Dimensions UK? At Dimensions, we’re proud to be recognised as a Great Place to Work for the seventh year running in 2025. We believe in putting people first, whether that’s the individuals we support or the colleagues who make it all possible. You’ll receive award‑winning training, genuine career progression opportunities, and be part of a values‑led organisation where your voice matters.

There’s no single type of Support Worker. Whether you’re just starting out, changing careers, or bringing experience with you, what matters most is your enthusiasm and your desire to make a difference. If you have an open mind and a willingness to learn, we’ll provide all the training and support you need to thrive.

  • Guaranteed Hours: Enjoy secure and reliable employment with set hours every week.
  • Comprehensive Training: We offer paid training, including financial bonuses for completing awards and diplomas, ensuring you have all the skills you need to excel.
  • Early Pay Access: Get paid earlier with our early pay access scheme, allowing you to manage your finances more flexibly.
  • Free DBS Check: We cover the cost of your enhanced DBS disclosure.
  • Employee Discounts: Enjoy discounts across various retailers through the Blue Light Card and access cashback on shopping and days out.
  • Referral Bonus: Earn £500 for referring a friend who joins our team.
  • Driving Lessons Support: We contribute 50% towards driving lessons, subject to certain criteria.
  • Employee Benefits Scheme: Access additional benefits and discounts to enhance your lifestyle.
  • Applications are reviewed upon receipt and interviews will take place until the positions are filled.
  • An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required for this role, the cost of which will be incurred by Dimensions.
  • Gender is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010. In this context, "gender" refers to the sex legally assigned to an individual.
  • We welcome applications from everyone who has the right to work in the UK, and value diversity in our workforce.
