Main duties of the job

You will provide comprehensive and accurate admin and clerical support to operational and clinical teams within our Neurology Service. This will include ownership of on‑call rota, booking/rescheduling patient appointments, accurate data inputting onto electronic patient records system, answering complex telephone queries, minute taking, and ordering.

Job responsibilities
  • Work effectively as a team member.
  • Responsible for on‑call clinics, rota and outcomes.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative services across all services in the building, including word‑processing, drafting, producing and proofreading documents from audio, digital dictation or copy sources.
  • Undertake general office duties such as filing, photocopying, collating, and distributing information, receipt, and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Operate and maintain a robust, accurate and secure filing system that is easily accessible by all staff.
  • Maintain spreadsheets and databases, including production of regular information reports.
  • Organise and service meetings/events, including room bookings, taking accurate notes, transcription, and circulation as appropriate.
  • Procure stationery, clinical supplies, and equipment stock.
  • Use own initiative to meet tight deadlines.
  • Provide flexible administrative and clerical cover as required, possibly working at another base during cross‑cover arrangements.
