Supervised Contact Worker - Children and Family Services

30 hour per week

The local authority is committed to drawing on the growing evidence base to developing innovative services which work effectively with families who suffer from multiple symptoms of social exclusion and subsequently depend significantly on a wide range of public services.

Within this context, an exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the supervised contact service. As a supervised contact worker, you will be responsible for supporting children to have quality family time with parents and family members they are unable to live with. We are seeking a supervised contact worker to join the service who has a ‘can do’ approach and is committed to the delivery and development of evidence-based methods of intervention.

Responsibilities
  • Work in partnership with the case management teams and have responsibility ensuring children and families supported by the local authority have safe and effective contact sessions in line with current policies, best practice, legislation, procedures, and internal systems.
  • Support children to have quality family time with parents and other family members they cannot live with.
  • Ensure adherence to current policies, best practice, legislation, procedures, and internal systems when organising contact sessions.
Requirements
  • Ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.
  • Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
  • An Enhanced with Children’s Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.
  • A valid driving licence is requirement for this post.
  • The council’s Hybrid Working Policy applies to this post. This provides a framework for establishing how you will undertake working hours between your home and the office.
