Job description
Overview

Today, Amazon Web Services provides a highly reliable, scalable, low-cost infrastructure platform in the cloud that powers hundreds of thousands of businesses in 190 countries around the world. The AWS Cloud infrastructure is built around Regions and Availability Zones (AZs). AWS Regions provide multiple, physically separated and isolated Availability Zones which are connected with low latency, high throughput, and highly redundant networking. We are seeking a Technical Program Manager to help build out that low latency, high throughput, and highly redundant network.

We are looking for a Technical Program Manager with proven experience, strong sense of ownership and passion for defining and driving large cross-functional programs. The candidate should be self-driven, able to learn quickly and influence decision-making across organizations. In this position, you will work closely with various Amazon business units to gather, refine and drive program goals including compliance and financial management. You will have the opportunity to implement new processes and procedures driving continuous improvement while interacting with a broad range of stakeholders across Amazon.

At Amazon, we set a high bar, so expect to be challenged on the scope and scale of the problems we tackle. We are moving fast, using the latest technologies, and transforming the way we deliver global connectivity.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders to manage the compliance and reporting requirements of the global AWS subsea network.
  • Be responsible for managing and reporting our compliance requirements and responses, policy development, and compliance training.
  • Undertake financial and project management within the subsea engineering team to support the ongoing operations of our in-service network.
  • Collaborate across business units and with partners to drive multi-year subsea projects from planning through delivery while meeting high standards and timelines.
  • Communicate clearly and timely, alerting customers and stakeholders with a path forward when issues arise.
Day in the life / What to expect

Our subsea projects are multi-year in duration, requiring careful planning, disciplined execution, and ongoing invention and simplification as the program grows. We work with internal and external stakeholders to drive projects to meet goals and timelines, ensuring delivery meets high standards and specifications. We problem-solve to remove roadblocks and keep customers informed as we evolve solutions. We strive for global consistency and learning from each other.
