Fancy hitting the road and exploring the UK while doing something exciting? If you’re into events, recruitment, marketing, and outreach, this could be your perfect gig — sound like you? Let’s chat! We are seeking a current University of Brighton student looking for a placement year OR final year UoB student looking for a graduate role. Within this role you’ll be attending Higher Education (HE) fairs and Exhibitions to speak to prospective students, as well as delivering presentations online or in-person. You will also have the opportunity to assist with supporting a range of other events, including the University’s open days and Summer Schools. You'll demonstrate excellent presentation and communication skills, as well as the ability to relate to and speak with school and college students about exploring possible HE options. Attending these events requires a significant amount of travel, longer hours (time can be taken back), and more unsociable hours, especially during our busier periods throughout the year.

To Be Successful In This Role You Should Have
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to present and engage to a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Good administrative and organisational skills as a large part of this role is providing administrative support with the planning of these events
  • Familiarity and good knowledge of Microsoft applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • The ability to work flexibly and effectively with team members across the Student Recruitment and Outreach division, as well as the wider Marketing and Communications department

Attending these events requires a significant amount of travel, and therefore you will need to hold a clean driving licence to travel extensively across the UK when required (a hire car will be arranged for you if needed). Some longer days, weekend and evening work is required, for which time in lieu is arranged. Annual leave for this post is usually taken during school/college holiday periods.

Interviews are planned for late February, with an approximate start date of late May to early June 2026 depending on your studies. The post is fixed term until 31/07/2027. In addition to working away at events, and on UoB, there will also be the opportunity for some home work to be arranged with your manager on appointment.

If you would like further information about this post, please feel free to contact our current Student Recruitment Assistant Amalia Susanu at A.Susanu@brighton.ac.uk or our Student Recruitment Officer Kirsty Yull at k.yull@brighton.ac.uk.
