Overview
Bangor University’s Student Experience team is seeking a suitably qualified and highly motivated individual to support the delivery of a high‑quality student experience across the University. This is a full‑time, permanent position (36.25 hours per week, Monday‑Friday with occasional evening and weekend work as required). The role will involve providing administrative support for student events and activities, managing records and systems, and coordinating operational tasks to enhance the student experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and schedule student communications across email, intranet, social media and digital signage.
- Convert complex information from senior managers into student‑friendly communications for urgent use.
- Maintain and update student‑facing web content, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Monitor communication analytics to support continuous improvement.
- Coordinate the planning and delivery of student‑facing events, collaborating with other services and academic schools.
- Administer Student Internship Opportunities: promotion, recruitment, induction, and liaison with the university.
- Support risk assessments and event safety planning in partnership with relevant services.
- Assist with institutional survey promotion and delivery (e.g., NSS, PTES).
- Draft materials to encourage student engagement in surveys and events.
- Perform any other duties appropriate to the grade, as directed by line management.
Core Responsibilities (Grade 6)
Service Delivery
- Efficiently administer processes, events, and services within the assigned area.
- Maintain accurate records and databases; coordinate scheduling, correspondence, and document preparation.
- Provide day‑to‑day guidance to G4/5 staff, balancing workloads and escalating issues as needed.
Communication, Stakeholder Engagement & Events
- Create and distribute engaging communication materials for services, events, and updates.
- Organise and deliver workshops, career fairs, and student support sessions.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful event promotion and execution.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect, input, and analyse data related to the role’s focus; maintain confidentiality and report progress.
- Monitor trends and generate reports for decision‑making and compliance.
- Handle routine and complex cases following procedures.
- Provide advice and signposting on policies and procedures for the assigned area.
Process Improvement and Innovation
- Contribute to the development of resources, processes, and systems.
- Participate in projects to improve the student experience and institutional operations.
- Collaborate across departments to support university‑wide events and initiatives.
- Provide cross‑functional assistance during high‑demand periods.
Collaboration and Teamwork
- Offer flexible support for university‑wide initiatives.
- Cover staff absences and adapt to changing priorities.
- Build relationships with internal teams, academic departments, and external partners.
- Represent the team at meetings and external events.
Compliance and Professional Development
- Support audits, reviews, and compliance activities.
- Participate in performance reviews, training, and workshops.

Person Specification
Qualifications / Training
- Essential: Educated to A Level or NVQ Level 4 in a relevant subject area.
- Desirable: Degree level education in a relevant subject area or equivalent.
- Desirable: ECDL certificate.
Experience / Knowledge
- Essential: Excellent understanding of the student journey and student experience in higher education.
- Essential: Experience managing relationships with multiple stakeholders.
- Essential: Experience producing engaging and accessible content for students.
- Essential: Experience organising events.
Skills / Abilities
- Essential: Ability to plan activities that deliver required outcomes within prescribed timescales and budget.
- Essential: Excellent written and spoken communication skills, including presentations.
- Essential: Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Essential: Excellent organisational skills.
- Essential: Proficiency with Microsoft IT applications and social media tools.
- Essential: Ability to speak Welsh fluently and write emails in Welsh for a variety of audiences.
