This role involves strategic planning, advanced analytics, and close collaboration with senior leaders to ensure data-driven decision-making. Applicants should have substantial experience in visitor operations and strong analytical tool proficiency. Flexible working is encouraged, alongside a competitive benefits package including a substantial pension scheme and free entry to National Trust sites.
We're looking for a Strategy Analyst - Visitor Experience to join our Visitor Experience team.
This strategic, analytical role will work closely with the Visitor Experience Director to shape and deliver long‑term plans aimed at increasing visitor numbers and diversifying audiences over a 3‑5 year horizon. This involves applying advanced analytics, business modelling, and data integration to generate insights that inform investment decisions, programming strategies, and audience engagement. You'll be pivotal in evaluating performance across financial, strategic, and operational dimensions, and in identifying opportunities for growth and improvement across our visitor portfolio. You'll be developing frameworks to assess visitor satisfaction, inclusivity, repeat visits, and financial return, ensuring that growth initiatives are investment‑ready and aligned with audience needs. You'll bring deep knowledge of strategic planning, consumer insight alongside technical proficiency in tools like Excel, Tableau, SPSS, or Alteryx. Internally you'll be known as Senior Lead - VE Optimisation.
You’ll report to the Visitor Experience Director and work closely with the Visitor Experience Senior Leadership Team. We are a close team, where high support and high challenge is expected and absolute focus on audiences is our passion, to deliver consistently good, repeatable experiences.
Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40‑60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.
You’ll be a strategic thinker and trusted advisor to work closely with senior leaders—particularly Directors—to shape and refine strategic direction. You'll facilitate high‑level conversations, translating complex data into actionable insights, and aligning decisions with our broader goals and public benefit outcomes. Embedded within the Visitor Experience Leadership Team, you'll provide evidence‑based feedback, support sense‑making, and ensure informed decision‑making. With a balance of analytical accuracy and compelling storytelling, you'll turn data into meaningful narratives. Highly collaborative and inquisitive, you'll gather insights across teams, connect knowledge, and co‑create solutions. Operating with autonomy and critical judgment, you'll bridge data and people to ensure insights are both technically sound and strategically relevant.
