Your future role

As Strategic Security Risk Manager, you'll be responsible for safeguarding Alstom’s people, assets, infrastructure, and sensitive information across the UK and Ireland. You will bring a strong blend of strategic security expertise and operational compliance experience, reporting directly to the Head of Security UK&I. You’ll shape and implement security governance aligned with corporate objectives and regulatory requirements.

This position is ideal for a proactive, solutions-oriented individual who thrives in a dynamic environment. You will work closely with site teams, project leads, and external partners to elevate security maturity and embed best practices. Acting as a strategic advisor and operational lead you will engage regularly with senior internal stakeholders and external security networks. The role will require frequent domestic and occasional international travel.

We’ll look to you for:
  • Lead the deployment of physical security governance and compliance frameworks across the UK&I cluster, ensuring alignment with both corporate standards and local regulatory requirements.
  • Drive the development and implementation of security policies and risk management strategies across all sites, projects, and business functions.
  • Oversee the operational and tactical execution of corporate and regulatory security initiatives, adapting to changing business needs.
  • Manage all aspects of security compliance, including GDPR, NRSP, and internal audit processes.
  • Own and maintain the insider and external threat management framework, leading complex investigations and collaborating with internal and external partners.
  • Maintain and regularly update the UK&I security risk register, escalating strategic risks and vulnerabilities as needed.
  • Develop, own, and continuously improve business continuity and crisis management procedures, ensuring Alstom is resilient and prepared for any scenario.
  • Provide strategic security and risk input into new business tenders, ensuring risks are identified, mitigated, and opportunities seized.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the Head of Security and the wider UK senior leadership team, influencing decision‑making at the highest level.
  • Implement and oversee security measures to safeguard travellers entering and exiting the UK.
  • Build and sustain strong working relationships with the UK security network, including service providers and security professionals from other organisations.
  • Ensure full compliance with all mandated security measures within the UK, in line with directives from the Chief Security Office.
  • Step into new challenges and projects as required, supporting Alstom’s growth and transformation.
