Overview
Stock Condition Surveyor required by a local Council to join the Housing Assets team based in Lyndhurst. This is a 3-month temp-to-perm opportunity with long-term career potential.
Responsibilities
- Undertake Stock Condition Surveys (SCS) to assess condition and life expectancy of key building components
- Update Asset Management System (Keystone) using mobile working platforms
- Carry out HHSRS evaluations, Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), and asbestos surveys
- Conduct weekly visual inspections of play parks and equipment under Housing's responsibility
- Investigate and respond to asset-related queries from tenants, CRM, or other departments
- Support the delivery of planned works and refurbishment projects, acting as client representative
- Assist in developing strategic plans including asset disposal and land development opportunities
Essential Skills & Experience
- Degree in a construction-related subject with substantial experience, or HNC/HND in Building Construction with significant post-qualification experience
- Qualified Domestic Energy Assessor
- P402 asbestos surveying and sampling qualification
- Excellent knowledge of building pathology, defects diagnosis, and HHSRS
- Sound knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015, Control of Asbestos at Work, Gas Safety, and related legislation
- IT literate - proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant housing/asset management software
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Working towards full RICS or CIOB membership
- Experience in asset management techniques and decision-making processes
- Knowledge of housing asset management software (e.g. Keystone)
