Static Fabric Engineer - Salford

Location: Salford (Static Site) | Position: Static Fabric Engineer | Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

FM Search & Select are working with a leading Facilities Management provider to recruit an experienced Static Fabric Engineer for a large static site in Salford. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive FM team, on-site to deliver first-class maintenance and repair services. You'll be responsible for ensuring the building's fabric is maintained to the highest standards, while providing a safe, compliant, and efficient environment.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on building fabric, including doors, locks, windows, walls, ceilings, flooring, and general carpentry/handyperson tasks.
  • Support compliance checks and statutory building maintenance requirements.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests, ensuring minimal disruption to the site.
  • Liaise with the facilities team and contractors to coordinate works and maintain high service standards.
  • Ensure all works are carried out safely, following company procedures and health & safety guidelines.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven experience in a fabric engineer / building maintenance role (carpentry, joinery, plumbing, or general building skills).
  • Strong knowledge of planned and reactive maintenance within a facilities management environment.
  • Good understanding of health & safety and compliance procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive, “can-do” attitude.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Qualifications
  • Trade background (carpentry, joinery, plumbing, or multi-skilled fabric) highly desirable.
  • Relevant H&S training/certifications (e.g. IOSH, PASMA, IPAF) advantageous.
