Job description
Overview

Staff Nurse RMN / RNLD at Sirona Medical for a specialist neuro behavioural rehabilitation service for people with an acquired brain injury, including traumatic brain injury and stroke or a progressive neurological condition. The role focuses on reducing challenging behaviour and optimising functional skills in a 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation service across three units. Aimed at maximising independence, with pathways including intensive or slower stream neuro behavioural rehabilitation and emphasis on preparing patients for return to their local area where possible.

The team includes neuro psychologists, psychiatrists, occupational therapists, physiotherapist, speech and language therapists, social work, Qualified Nurses and Rehabilitation Assistants. Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care within a specialist neuro behavioural rehabilitation setting for people with acquired brain injury, including traumatic brain injury and stroke, to reduce challenging behaviour and optimise functional skills.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support rehabilitation goals and daily living activities.
  • Contribute to planning and delivering care pathways that maximise independence and progress toward least restrictive settings.
  • Support community rehabilitation planning to facilitate discharge and independent living where possible.
  • Engage in regular outcome measurement and progress tracking as part of individual care plans.
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) with RMN and/or RNLD specialism as appropriate to the role.
  • Experience in neuro behavioural rehabilitation or brain injury/neurological conditions preferred.
