Job description
Overview

An amazing opportunity has arisen within the Emergency Surgery and Elective Care Business unit with the development and extension of the Urology services within the Trust. We are looking for a highly motivated band 5 staff nurse to join our team within the Urology diagnostic and treatment services. The successful candidates will be required to work across cross sites. You will be expected to show commitment, flexibility and good interpersonal skills to provide high standards of care for those patients accessing our services. The hours of work will predominantly Monday to Friday, but evening and weekends will be required.

Duties
  • Assisting with diagnostic procedures
  • Administrating chemotherapy for the treatment of bladder cancer
  • Teaching patient's intermittent self-catheterisation
  • Urinary flow studies
  • To assess, plan, implement and evaluate pathways of care, under the supervision of department manager.
  • To be responsible for the organising and co-ordination of the nursing services in the department in the absence of senior staff on a regular basis.
  • To exercise accountability as set out in the NMC code of professional conduct.
  • To be responsible for all nursing care standards and to maintain high clinical standards.
  • To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the Trust.
