Health and Care Jersey have two permanent Specialty Doctor (Staff Grade) roles in our Mental Health Services within Adult Community Psychiatry. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic staff grade / specialty doctor to join our established Community Mental Health Team (CMHT), based in St Helier. The job will be primarily based in our newly refurbished Community Mental Health Centre at La Chasse, St. Helier.

About the Team

The CMHT serves people aged between 18 and 65 who suffer from severe mental illness. Our aim is to help service users achieve their potential by promoting recovery and maintaining wellbeing. Our service users come from a variety of cultural backgrounds and often have challenging and complex needs. The CMHT is a multidisciplinary team that includes doctors (consultants and staff grades), a clinical psychologist, nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, support workers and administrative staff.

Role Responsibilities

• Undertake psychiatric assessments and mental and physical examinations.
• Provide formulation, risk assessment, care planning and treatment for people with severe mental health problems.
• Contribute to quality improvement, service development, teaching and research.
• Develop leadership skills, supported by regular supervision from an experienced consultant psychiatrist.

This post is 09:00 to 17:00, with on‑call responsibilities.
