A reputable health service provider is seeking a motivated individual to join the Buckinghamshire Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). This role involves providing intensive support to children and families during mental health crises and working collaboratively with a care team. The position requires a candidate with lived experience of caregiving, exceptional communication skills, and a commitment to enhancing mental health care within the community. The role is predominantly based in Aylesbury, requiring travel to High Wycombe as needed.
The service you'll be working in is Buckinghamshire Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) Intensive Home Treatment Team (IHTT). IHTT is a supports in providing families with intensive community intervention. We are looking for a motivated individual with lived experience of being a care giver to a young person with significant mental health difficulties. The individual would be able involved in supporting and guiding families during a period of crisis that can present as chaotic, stressful and distressing. You will work alongside the young person, the family or carers and a CAMHS core care team, including a care coordinator, to plan a comprehensive package of care including interventions tailored to the family's needs., You will support children, young people and their families for a period of intervention that can range between the short and medium term, and alongside the team provide intensive support during a mental health crisis while offering a range of support to reduce the likelihood of admission to inpatient hospital services, and stabilise their mental health while in a community setting. The support is mainly provided in their home environment and can also include support accessing school provision and community based resources. The IHTT is able to offer and engage families in a higher level and more intensive plan of support, including the ability to conduct multiple visits across a week and sometimes daily as required. The role is predominantly based in Sue Nicholls Centre, Aylesbury, with additional expectation to work from Saffron House, High Wycombe.
The ability to travel independently between sites within the Trust is essential for this role.
